Two Connection Styles for Different Mounting Needs
Expansion Bolts with an Exposed Thread
The sleeve-style configuration combines a threaded stud, expansion sleeve, nut, and washer. The projecting thread allows the fixture to be secured with a nut, making it a practical option where there is sufficient space for an exposed fastener and tightening tool.
Internally Threaded Anchors
An internally threaded anchor accepts a matching bolt or threaded rod. This arrangement allows buyers to select the mating fastener according to the fixture thickness and connection design.

Nominal thread size is not the same as the drill-hole diameter. Hole dimensions and setting depth must follow the installation information for the selected anchor.
Match the Anchor to the Mounting Location
Stainless steel expansion anchors can be evaluated for equipment bases, mounting plates, brackets, and maintenance fixtures installed in suitable solid materials.
For a plate mounted on concrete, consider both the plate thickness and the available depth below it. Anchors installed close to an edge, in a thin base, or in closely grouped positions require particular attention because expansion places forces on the surrounding material.
Concrete, brick, and hollow block are not interchangeable anchoring surfaces. Identify the actual base material when making an inquiry so the product can be assessed for the intended connection. Structural, overhead, seismic, and other safety-critical uses require verified load data and any applicable approvals.
Stainless Steel Selection for Damp or Exposed Areas

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a longer anchor always provide a stronger connection?
No. Overall length does not establish load capacity. Performance depends on effective embedment, anchor design, base-material condition, spacing, edge distance, and correct installation.
Can I use any bolt with an internally threaded anchor?
The bolt must match the anchor’s thread form, pitch, and required engagement. Its length must also suit the fixture without bottoming out before the joint is clamped.
Can these anchors be used in cracked concrete?
Suitability must be supported by product-specific documentation. If the project requires cracked-concrete or seismic approval, state that requirement before selecting or ordering the anchor.
Can an expansion anchor be removed and installed again?
