Do lag bolts require nuts?
Despite the name “lag bolt,” this type of fastener normally threads directly into timber rather than a nut. If the connection must pass through the wood and fasten with a nut, a machine-thread bolt is a different product.
Can I use these screws with wall plugs?
Only when the plug manufacturer specifies compatibility with the screw diameter, length, and thread form. The wall material and required load must also be considered; a wood screw alone is not a masonry anchor.
Should I add a washer beneath the hex head?
A washer may be appropriate where the head bears against a bracket hole or a softer surface. Select it according to the hole size, bearing area, and joint design rather than assuming it is required for every assembly.
Can the same screw be removed and reinstalled?
